We make our skincare in New Zealand, using locally sourced, plant-based ingredients. No parabens, no harsh surfactants, no petrochemicals, no microplastics — and nothing tested on animals. Then we send our formulations to be scientifically tested. Because “natural” isn’t enough on its own. Skin that’s already irritated needs more than good intentions — it needs proof.

Where KD One started — and why

KD One began with a question that wouldn’t go away. Kareen Holland spent years working as a professional makeup artist, watching what conventional skincare did to people’s skin — redness, irritation, persistent dryness, and worse for anyone already dealing with eczema or psoriasis. The “natural” alternatives weren’t much better; they looked the part, but didn’t deliver.

So she asked herself a simple question: why can’t what we put on our bodies be as pure as what we put in them?

The answer was KD One. Plant-based formulations, made in Wellington, drawing on the natural ingredients New Zealand does best — and tested properly, so customers know they actually work. No fillers. No shortcuts. That’s still how every product is made today.
